The revised Stroke Action Plan for Europe (SAP-E) has been published in the European Stroke Journal. Developed by the Stroke Alliance for Europe (SAFE) and the European Stroke Organisation (ESO), the updated Plan sets out an ambitious but achievable roadmap to reduce the burden of stroke across Europe by 2030. Building on the original SAP-E launched in 2018, the new document reflects five years of progress, new evidence and data gathered from European countries through the Stroke Service Tracker. It includes clear, measurable targets across seven stroke domains. The SAP-E is a call to action. Without committed national strategies and adequate funding, too many people will continue to suffer preventable deaths and life-altering disability due to stroke.Co-authored by Professor Joanna WardlawRead the full paper from the following link:Stroke Action Plan for Europe 2018–2030 (SAP-E): mid-term review and update This article was published on 2026-01-21
