Dr Una Clancy awarded Best Rapid Oral Communication for Cognition & Pathophysiology at the recent ESO Conference

We are delighted to hear Dr Una Clancy was awarded Best Rapid Oral Communication for Cognition & Pathophysiology at the recent ESO Conference.

About Una

Dr Una Clancy, Clinical Research Fellow in cerebral small vessel diseases (SVD), presented Lothian Birth Cohort 1936 results in oral & poster format at the recent virtual European Stroke Organisation Conference which took place at the beginning of September.

The presentation, “White matter hyperintensity progression & neuropsychiatric symptom course in older adults in the Lothian Birth Cohort 1936”, won the Best Rapid Oral Communication Award at the Cognition & Pathophysiology section of the conference.

These data, which come from LBC1936 waves 2-4 MR scans & questionnaires, looked at how subtle brain changes on MR& mood symptoms could be inter-related over a six-year timeframe.

This may help the team to predict which individuals are most likely to develop brain changes over time.

We asked Una how she felt regarding receiving this award.
