Nov 2016: Congratulations to Dr Danielle Leighton, who was awarded prize for best platform presentation at the Scottish Association of Neurological Sciences (SANS) Annual Meeting earlier this month. Danielle won the prize for her presentation at SANS entitled 'Targeted genotype-phenotype association studies of motor neurone disease in a Scottish cohort '. Image Danielle is a clinical research fellow undertaking a PhD in motor neurone disease (MND) in CCBS under the supervision of Dr Suvankar Pal and Professor Siddharthan Chandran. Her project is a Scotland-wide initiave, investigating genetic abnormalities in the Scottish MND population and consequent clinical features.Danielle hopes to identify important genotype-phenotype associations that will permit stratification of people with MND for clinical trials. Her fellowship is jointly funded by the Chief Scientist Office for Scotland, Motor Neurone Disease Scotland and the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
