The 2023 Edinburgh Dementia Prevention Summer School will be delivered virtually via Zoom with the focus on dementia prevention and promoting brain health. We are excited to announce the return of the Edinburgh Dementia Prevention Summer School 2023, which will focus on the latest evidence for dementia prevention and promoting good brain health. Delivered online, the course will consider both global and public health perspectives, including examples from clinical care, policy and research. The Brain Health Summer School is a five-day interactive online course, which will combine materials and activities to work through in your own time, alongside daily 1.5-hour live sessions (using Zoom) with course tutors and fellow attendees to explore each topic in more depth. The course is designed principally for trainee and qualified clinicians, nurses and allied health professionals working in (or with an aim to work in) brain health and dementia services, as well as researchers, undergraduate and post-graduate students. Bookings from other persons interested in increasing their general knowledge of research in this area (for example public health workers) are also welcome. An important aim of the course is to introduce participants to approaches outside their current discipline with a view to developing multi-disciplinary practice and research. The course will provide an overview on promoting brain health and the prevention of neurodegenerative disorders and an exploration of the evidence base underpinning these.
