Photovoice workshops

The PROMISE study is running Photovoice workshops across Malawi in the districts of Chiradzulu and Salima.

Photovoice is being used in PROMISE project as a participatory action research approach to elicit lived experience of psychosis from people and their caregivers in Malawi.

Photovoice engages people who do not usually have a say in the decisions that affect their daily lives as a way for them to deepen their understanding of an issue. The goal of Photovoice is to support the self empowerment of participants by providing them with the opportunity to express their experiences and speak through photographs.

Theory of Change workshops

Theory of Change (ToC) is an outcomes-based approach which describes how a programme brings about specific outcomes through a logical sequence of intermediate outcomes.

In PROMISE, the overall purpose of the ToC workshops is to work with stakeholders to develop the PROMISE intervention and implementation strategies, develop a framework for the evaluation, and get stakeholder buy-in.
